Industry demands to the right experts, with reasons

EnaTTO manages industry collaboration with company profiles, an academic expertise directory and a directory of laboratories and facilities. For each demand, suitable experts and labs are suggested with reasons, the TTO decides whom to contact, and meetings, agreements and payments are tracked in one place.

Company profiles

Companies with NACE sectors and contacts; meetings are linked to the company or the demand.

Expertise directory

Academics edit their own profile; publications come from OpenAlex by ORCID iD or by DOI.

Lab directory

Laboratories and facilities in a searchable directory.

Matching with reasons

Rule-based ranking by shared keywords, sector and service; no messages go out automatically.

Public demand form

Companies send demands without an account; your team is notified once the e-mail is confirmed.

Agreements and payments

Consultancy, contract research, testing, joint R&D and training in one agreement record.

Companies, experts and laboratories

The company directory consists of profiles added to ecosystem partners of the company type; sectors are classified by international NACE sections and company contacts are directory people. Everyone with directory access sees the expertise and lab directories, and academics edit their own expertise profile.

Publications are added to a profile in bulk from OpenAlex using an ORCID iD, or one at a time by DOI. Publication topics are suggested as keywords that are not yet on the profile; nothing changes until the person picks them.

Demands and rule-based matching

Industry demands and R&D problems carry the company’s business information, so only TTO staff who manage industry collaboration can see them. For each demand, experts and labs are ranked by shared keywords, sector and the service requested, and every suggestion shows its reason.

Matching is rule-based. The TTO decides whom to contact, and no message goes to the company or the academic automatically. Meetings and contacts are recorded on the demand or the company.

The public demand form

Companies send a demand from the institution’s demand page without an account. Submission requires explicit consent, is limited per IP address and e-mail address, and does not enter the queue until the e-mail is confirmed; demands not confirmed within 48 hours are deleted. For a confirmed demand your team is notified in the app and by e-mail, and the e-mail does not contain the demand itself.

Agreements, payments and indicators

Consultancy, contract research, testing services, joint R&D and training are tracked in one agreement record: company, optional demand, type, status, value and currency, dates, the team of academics and labs, payments received and documents. Dates and status are entered by users; the system draws no legal conclusions.

Signing an agreement marks the linked demand as won. Indicators such as demands, matches, win rate, signed and active agreements, industry income, companies engaged and time to match appear in reports under industry collaboration.

Frequently asked questions

Does matching use AI?
No. Matching is rule-based and every suggestion shows its reason. If the optional AI assistance is on, candidates can additionally be re-ranked under neutral labels instead of names; in every case a user adds the match.
Do companies need an account?
No. Companies use the public demand form without an account; the TTO handles the records internally.
Can academics see industry demands?
No. Demands contain the company’s business information and are visible only to staff who manage industry collaboration. Academics edit their own expertise profile and can see the directories.
Does EnaTTO manage the legal side of agreements?
No. Dates, status and value on the agreement record are information users enter. If you need a sign-off before signing, the document approval workflow can be used.
