The Academy module manages the TTO's training and events: IP awareness seminars, entrepreneurship workshops, courses and webinars. An event has one or more sessions; related events can be grouped in a training programme.

Required role

  • Manage training and events (TTO staff, Owner). Trainers and participants are directory people or names and do not get accounts.

Training programmes

Training programmes → Add programme creates a series, for example an IP awareness series. Programmes are optional; you link an event to a programme in the event form.

Create an event

Go to Events → Add and enter:

  • Event name, Type (Seminar, Workshop, Course, Webinar, Conference, Other) and Format (In person, Online, Hybrid),
  • an optional programme, the description and the Audience,
  • the Venue and/or Online link,
  • the Capacity (leave empty for unlimited),
  • the Certificate attendance threshold (%): the share of sessions a participant must attend for a certificate (80% by default),
  • Registration opens and Registration closes,
  • an internal note, visible only inside the TTO.

Event statuses are Draft, Published, Completed and Cancelled.

Sessions

After saving, add Sessions → Add session with a start and end time, an optional title (for example "Day 1: basics") and a session venue if it differs from the event venue. The event's Total duration is calculated from its sessions.

Trainers and materials

  • Trainers → Add trainer: a directory person, internal or external, with the role Trainer, Speaker or Moderator.
  • Documents → Attach document: slides and resources from the document store, linked by code.

Publish for registration

A Published event appears on the public event registration page while its registration period is open and its first session has not started. The public page never shows the capacity, the number of registrations, the online link or internal notes; it only says when the event is full.
