A licensee candidate is a company interested in one of your technologies. EnaTTO keeps the candidate's status and every negotiation step, so the team knows where each conversation stands.

Required role

  • Manage the technology portfolio and licensing (TTO staff, Owner).

Where candidates come from

  • Catalogue form: a confirmed "I'm interested" inquiry from the technology catalogue.
  • TTO record: Licensee candidates → Add candidate, or the Candidates tab of a technology. Choose a company from the directory, or enter the name of a company that is not in it, plus the contact person, Interest, the inquiry message and an internal note.

Status

Change status moves the candidate through New, Contacted, Evaluating, In negotiation and the closing statuses Agreed, Declined and Withdrawn, with an Outcome note. The status is a TTO record and has no legal effect.

Negotiation steps

Under Negotiation steps → Add step record what happened: type (Meeting, Call, E-mail, Confidentiality agreement, Term sheet, Offer, Other), date, summary, Next step and a Follow-up date. The follow-up date appears in the candidate list.

From candidate to agreement

When terms are agreed, click Record agreement on the candidate. When the agreement is signed, an open candidate linked to it becomes Agreed.

Delete candidate removes the candidate and all its steps. For closed candidates, changing the status is recommended instead.
