Benchmarking

Optional, anonymous yearly benchmarking in EnaTTO - what is shared, how peer groups form, previewing and sending values, the comparison and leaving.

Applies to:
  • EnaTTO app
Last updated: Verified with EnaTTO 1.2.0

This article was verified with an older release. Screen names or steps may differ in the current version.

Benchmarking compares your yearly indicators with similar organizations. It is optional and off until you take part. Organizations that take part share a small set of anonymous values once a year and see the median and quartiles of their peers.

Required role

  • Taking part, previewing and sending values: Integrations (Owner, Administrator).
  • Seeing the comparison: View aggregated reports.

What is shared and what is not

SharedNever shared
Rates, durations and scores of 28 selected indicatorsRecords, names, codes
Counts converted to values per 100 staffAmounts of money, operational indicators
Your institution type and country (for the peer group)The staff count itself

Staff means directory people linked to a unit of your institution who are not archived.

Take part

Go to System management → Integrations → Benchmarking. Choose the Institution type (University, Research institute, Technology park, Hospital, Public agency, Other) and click Save type.

Click Take part. Taking part sends nothing yet.

Open Reports → Benchmarking. Under Send yearly values EnaTTO lists the values for the last completed fiscal year. Check them and click Send.

Values are calculated again on the server when you send; if the year's values changed after your preview, sending is refused and you preview again. Send again replaces that year's values. A copy of what you sent is kept in EnaTTO and each sending is written to the audit log.

Read the comparison

Under Comparison with peers each indicator shows your value, the peers' median and the middle half (lower to upper quartile), and your position: Below the middle half, In the middle half or Above the middle half. Higher or lower is not good or bad by itself.

  • The peer group is organizations of the same country and type. If it has fewer than 5, the same type in all countries is used. If that is still fewer than 5, the indicator is not shown.
  • Minimum and maximum values are never returned. Only organizations that sent values for that year see their peers.

Leave benchmarking

Leave benchmarking deletes every submission of your organization, both in the benchmark service and in EnaTTO. This cannot be undone. If the service cannot be reached, leaving is not carried out; try again later.
