Industry collaboration starts with knowing who can do what. EnaTTO keeps three directories for it: Companies, the Expertise directory of academics and Laboratories. They feed the matching of industry demands.

Required role

  • Viewing the three directories: View directory (everyone except the institutional viewer).
  • Company profiles and laboratories: Manage industry collaboration (TTO staff, Owner).
  • An expertise profile: the academic themselves, or the TTO.

Companies

A company is an ecosystem partner of type Company. To add a company, create the partner in the directory first, then open it under Companies and click Add profile. A profile holds the Sector (NACE sections), Size (Micro, Small, Medium, Large), Employees, Founded, About the company, Technology areas, Collaboration interests (what the company wants from the university: R&D topics, testing, talent), whether it has an R&D centre, location and website. Contacts are the directory people linked to that partner.

Expertise directory

Each academic can have an expertise profile with a Summary, Keywords, Research areas, Sectors, the Services they offer (Consultancy, Contract research, Testing, Training, Joint project, Licensing) and their Availability. Only profiles marked Available for industry are suggested for industry demands.

  • Academics click My expertise profile to edit their own.
  • The TTO clicks Add profile, picks a person of the institution and edits their profile.

Publications from ORCID and DOI

On an expertise profile, Publications lists the person's publications:

  • Import from ORCID imports up to 100 of the most recent publications from OpenAlex using the ORCID iD in the person's directory record. EnaTTO first checks the ORCID record and shows the name on it, so you can spot a wrong iD. Importing again updates existing entries.
  • Add by DOI adds a single publication with details from Crossref.
  • A publication removed from the list stays hidden and does not come back on the next import.

Under Keyword suggestions from publication topics EnaTTO proposes keywords that are not yet on the profile. Click one to add it; suggestions you do not pick are not added.

Only the ORCID iD or the DOI is sent to these services; no names, emails or notes. Importing and removing publications is open to the person themselves and to the TTO. If the source is unreachable, try again later.

Laboratories

Laboratories → Add laboratory: name, unit, description, Services (Testing, Measurement, Analysis, Prototyping, Calibration, Training, Equipment use), Equipment (device and model), Accreditations, Contact person and Availability: Available for industry or Internal use only. The internal note is visible only to industry managers. A laboratory can be archived and restored.
